Lady in Blue – Original 8" × 10" Painting

An unusual little painting that has followed me around for more than 15 years.
I received this original 8" × 10" painting from a young woman sometime around 2010, when I was running a breakfast café. I believe she gave it to me around the time the café opened, although after all these years I honestly can't remember the exact occasion.

What I do remember is that I kept it.

Over the years, I started calling it Lady in Blue. Painted almost entirely in shades of blue, the piece depicts the frontal upper body of a woman, with the composition deliberately framing and emphasizing her cleavage. It's bold, playful and a little provocative without being overly detailed — the kind of small painting that immediately catches your attention.

The painting is signed in the lower corner, although I don't know the artist's full name or history. I'm not presenting it as the work of a known artist; it's simply an original piece with an interesting personal history and plenty of character.

After all these years, I figure perhaps it's time for Lady in Blue to find another wall.
